The southernmost stronghold of the Land of Nox, guarded by Arch-Wizard Horvath, is a sanctuary for Wizards—and a bastion against their sworn enemies, the Warriors. Here, the distrust of Warriors runs deep; even aiding a Fire Knight is seen as bad business. Locals are known to hurl insults like “pig-headed, armored sheep” at them. However, the church of St. Alastor remains welcoming to Fire Knights, and some residents who have visited Dün Mir view their fellow citizens as narrow-minded.

Access to this wizard stronghold is possible via the Crossroads or by airship. Within it stands the Tower of Illusion, where the Arch-Wizard directs most wizardly affairs. This tower is also home to the Heart of Nox, an essential component of the powerful Staff of Oblivion. Within its walls lie a classroom, a library, and various specialized research chambers. Beneath the tower is a hidden archival section, originally the wizards’ primary repository before the tower was built. This underground vault, filled with concealed bookcases and ancient traps to repel intruders, has remained largely untouched for years. A hidden tunnel beneath the tower allows wizards to pass important messages discreetly, leading all the way to the cottage of Stratus, just outside the city.

Locals describe the Warden as an honorable man, if somewhat overzealous in his duties. Warriors entering the city, like Jack, should beware; if Jack defends himself against Daniel, a citizen who attacks him, he will be jailed. However, should Jack wait patiently in his cell, the guard will recognize Daniel as the aggressor and release him. Locals have a high regard for Maximilian's inn, and state that it is where one should go if they want the latest news. Rumors circulate of Hecubah’s unholy army advancing, and some residents are anxious, speaking of her alleged pact with demons. There is also talk of bandits preying on people travelling the trade routes between Galava and Ix, and brazen attacks on caravans by ogres near the Dismal Swamp.

In the Conjurer playthrough, Hecubah sends ogres to invade the city and seize the Heart of Nox. With the Heart in danger, Horvath takes shelter to protect it. When Jack the Conjurer arrives, Jandor informs him that ogres have already overrun the Tower’s first floor, and guards even report sightings of Ember Demons. After Jack clears the Tower and locates Horvath, he finds the Arch-Wizard and four other wizards being interrogated by Hecubah, who is accompanied by two ogre bodyguards. Hecubah then kills Horvath, triggering a battle in which both ogres and two wizards perish. Following this, Jack retrieves the Heart of Nox from its chamber.
