Warlord Horrendous is the leader of the fierce Fire Knights of the fortress Dün Mir and the guardian of the first piece of the Staff of Oblivion, a powerful Halberd named after him. Renowned for training legendary warriors, Horrendous is a stern and imposing figure, overseeing the martial discipline of his fortress. He has spent much of his life striving to prove himself superior to others, particularly in the shadow of inevitable comparisons to the legendary Jandor.
In the warrior route, Horrendous briefly tutors Jack, imparting his knowledge and skill before sending him to the Village of Ix to continue his journey. However, in all storylines, Horrendous meets his demise before Jack acquires the Halberd. He is either killed by Hecubah or, in the wizard route, by Jack himself. Despite his rivalry with Jandor, Horrendous's legacy remains tied to the power of the Staff of Oblivion and his role as a formidable warrior.
It is said among the people of Dün Mir that Horrendous once fended off 40 wizards, with his bare hands, earning him the title of the bravest of warriors.
