Nox Wiki

Nox is an action role-playing game developed by Westwood Studios and published by Electronic Arts in 2000 for Microsoft Windows. It details the story of Jack, a young man from Earth who is pulled into a high fantasy parallel universe and has to defeat the evil sorceress Hecubah and her army of Necromancers to return home. Depending on the player's choice of character class at the beginning of the game (warrior, conjurer, or wizard), the game follows three largely different linear storylines, each leading to its unique ending. In the multiplayer, players can compete against each other in various game modes such as arena and capture the flag, or cooperate against computer-controlled monsters in the "Quest" mode introduced with the latest patch. The game was generally well-received by the critics and media.

-FRENCH : Nox est un hack'n'slash présenté comme un jeu d'avanture. Il a été developpé par les studios Westwood et publié par Electronic Arts en 200 pour Windows Microsoft. Il raconte l'histoire de Jack, un jeune américain qui est propulsé dans un univers fantastico-médieval parallèle pour affronter et défaire la sorcière Hecubah et ses sujets nécromanciens avant de pouvoir revenir sur la terre. Il peut endosser plusieurs rôles selon les choix du joueurs (guerrier, sorcier et druide). Dans la campagne solo une partie des missions sont les mêmes pour tous, l'autre consiste en des approches différentes (les réactions des PNJs à un endroit sont différentes selon le rôle du joueur par exemple).  Chaque rôle possède sa propre cinématique de fin.
-Au niveau du jeu multijoueur, les joueurs peuvent s'affronter dans différents types de jeux allant d'arène à jeu de capture de drapeau ou encore coopérer contre des monstres contrôlés par l'ordinateur dans un mode quête (depuis le dernier patch, le patch 1.2).
-Le jeu a généralement été bien reçu par la critique. Il connait de nombreuses ressemblances avec Diablo mais possède toutefois d'assez nombreuses caractéristiques qui lui sont propres comme la différence d'approche selon la classe déjà cité, la présence de nombreuses cachettes (derrière des murs à casser...), pièges dissimulés un peu partout et pouvant être utilisés contre les ennemis ainsi que des similitudes avec des jeux de plateforme (notamment dans les Enfers).
-Le jeu est disponible actuellement pour 5 euros sur GOG.games uniquement en anglais. Pour la version française il faut se tourner vers des sites de ventes par internet pour y acceder (ce n'est pas facile, le jeu n'étant pas véritablement connu de part sa sortie en meme temps que Diablo dans les années 2000).
